1. What are cookies?

Cookies are small files or information storage devices that are downloaded to a user’s device when they access certain web pages.

Among other functions, they allow preferences to be remembered, facilitate browsing, keep certain services running and, in some cases, obtain statistical information about the use of the website.

Other technologies with similar functions may also be used; this policy refers to all of them collectively as «cookies».

2. Website operator

The website https://agrotechcanarias.org/ is managed by:

  • Entity: Asociación Canaria Clúster de Agrotecnología «Clúster Agrotech».
  • Trading name: Clúster Agrotech Canarias.
  • Tax identification number (NIF): G23815202.
  • Registered office: Calle Escritor Benito Pérez Galdós, 37, 35002 Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, España.
  • Email: info@agrotechcanarias.org

3. Types of cookies

Cookies can be classified according to different criteria.

According to the entity that manages them:

  • First-party cookies: sent from a domain or device managed by the website operator.
  • Third-party cookies: sent from domains or services managed by other entities.

According to their purpose:

  • Technical or necessary cookies: enable browsing, security and the operation of the services requested by the user.
  • Preference or personalisation cookies: allow certain options or settings to be remembered.
  • Analytics or measurement cookies: allow statistical information to be obtained about the use of the website.
  • Advertising or behavioural advertising cookies: allow advertising to be managed or profiles to be created to display personalised advertising content.

According to their duration:

  • Session cookies: are generally deleted at the end of the browsing session.
  • Persistent cookies: remain stored for the period defined for each one.

The inclusion of these categories does not mean that the website necessarily uses all of them.

4. Cookies used on this website

Public browsing on this website does not include analytics or advertising tools operated by Clúster Agrotech Canarias. Fonts, images and the homepage video are served from the website’s infrastructure. External videos are described in section 7 and remain blocked until the user accepts loading each video.

Access to the members’ area, administration area and content previews use the following first-party cookies, managed by Clúster Agrotech Canarias. They are used when accessing those features and not to measure visitors’ browsing:

  • payload-token: authenticates people authorised to access the members’ or administration area. Duration: 2 hours from issue or renewal.
  • cac-preview-global and cac-preview-editorial: enable content previews during editorial work. Duration: browsing session.
  • __prerender_bypass: enables draft content to be displayed in previews. Duration: browsing session.
  • payload-lng: remembers the language selected in the administration area. Duration: 365 days.
  • payload-theme: remembers the appearance selected in the administration area. Duration: 365 days.

The administration area also uses browser storage for these editor features:

  • _payloadClipboard (localStorage): retains content copied in the editor so that it can be pasted. It has no automatic expiry and remains until replaced or the website’s data is deleted in the browser.
  • payload-pending-success-toast (sessionStorage): temporarily retains a successful-operation notification to display after navigation within the administration area. It is removed when the notification is consumed or the tab’s session ends.

Decisions about loading external videos are not saved in cookies, localStorage or sessionStorage. They are held only in the page’s memory, as explained in section 6.

5. Consent to the use of cookies

Cookies that are strictly necessary for the website to function or to provide a service requested by the user may be used without requesting prior consent where the relevant legal exemption applies.

Cookies that require consent will only be installed or activated after the user has given valid consent.

When cookies that require consent are used, the website will provide options to accept, reject and configure their use, without activating non-essential categories by default.

Browsing the website or failing to interact with the notice will not, on their own, be considered valid expressions of consent.

6. Settings and withdrawal of consent

The request to accept external videos appears next to each video, before the provider’s player loads. The notice identifies the provider and offers «Accept and load video» and «Do not load». No general acceptance banner is displayed when entering the website.

Acceptance applies only to that video during the visit to the page. It is not remembered between visits: after reloading or returning to the page, you must accept again to load the player. The rest of the website remains available if you choose «Do not load».

To withdraw permission for an active video, select «Disable video» next to the player. You can also open «Cookie settings», permanently available in the footer, and withdraw all permissions for active videos. These actions stop playback and remove the players from the page; loading them again requires a new acceptance.

Withdrawal prevents new player loads from this page but does not delete cookies or other data that providers have previously stored in your browser. To delete them, use your browser settings or the provider’s controls linked in section 7.

You can allow, block or delete cookies and other website data in your browser. Blocking access and preview cookies may prevent those members’ and administration-area features from working. Official instructions for the main browsers are available at these links:

7. Services provided by third parties

This website includes YouTube videos in certain news articles and projects. The player uses YouTube’s privacy-enhanced mode through youtube-nocookie.com and only loads after you accept that video’s notice. Before acceptance, the video component makes no connections to YouTube.

When you accept and load a video, your browser connects to Google/YouTube and communicates your IP address, browser and device information, the referring website, and the requests and interactions needed to play the content. The provider processes that data under its privacy policy.

Privacy-enhanced mode limits personalisation associated with video views; it does not mean that cookies or other storage technologies are absent. If YouTube displays ads in this mode, they are non-personalised. The provider’s information on cookies and similar technologies details their purposes, duration and controls.

Google/YouTube information: Privacy Policy and use of cookies and similar technologies. These policies include information about the provider’s retention periods, controls and international data transfers.

As of this update, no Vimeo videos are published on the website. Support for that provider in the content management system does not by itself activate its player or establish connections to Vimeo.

8. Browser settings

Users can also manage or delete cookies through their browser settings.

The relevant instructions can be found in each browser’s official documentation.

Deleting cookies through the browser does not replace the mechanism that the website must provide, where required, to manage or withdraw consent.

9. Personal data protection

Where the use of cookies involves the processing of personal data, this will be carried out in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation and other applicable legislation.

Information about the data controller, the purposes, the legal bases and the rights of data subjects is available in the website’s Privacy Policy.

10. Updating the policy

Clúster Agrotech Canarias may update this Cookie Policy when there are changes to the technologies used, the purposes of processing or the applicable legislation.

The current version will remain available on this website, indicating the date it was last updated.
